QUEEN’S PARK, ON. — Today, MPP John Fraser, Ontario Liberal Interim Leader and MPP Jonathan Tsao, Critic for Social Services, issued the following statement regarding OPSEU’s ongoing strike due to Doug Ford’s failure to deliver what is owed to frontline workers:
“Severe underfunding continues to erode social services, meanwhile a recent OPSEU report shows that over a billion dollars of public money has been flowing to the top three private administrators of government programs in the last year,” MPP John Fraser.
“Withholding Bill 124 payouts is just another example how Doug Ford is prioritizing private companies’ wealth over communities that are struggling,” said MPP Jonathan Tsao.
“Today, the Ontario Liberals are calling on the Ford government to do what is right and pay community health and social workers their owed retroactive Bill 124 wage increases. There’s what is fair, and then there’s what Doug Ford does. He can buy himself a luxury private jet, but he can’t give thousands of frontline social workers what they rightfully deserve,” MPP Fraser.
