Ontario Liberals Nominate Ahsanul Hafiz in Scarborough–Southwest

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SCARBOROUGH, ON — The Ontario Liberal Party has officially nominated Ahsanul Hafiz as its candidate for the upcoming Scarborough–Southwest by-election, marking another exciting moment for a party gaining energy across Ontario.

Today’s nomination brought together thousands of local Liberals, volunteers, and community members in a strong show of enthusiasm and engagement, highlighting the growing momentum behind a party ready to take on an out-of-touch government and fight for everyday Ontarians.

“Today’s turnout and enthusiasm in Scarborough–Southwest speaks to the energy we’re continuing to see across Ontario,” said Kathryn McGarry, President of the Ontario Liberal Party. “People are ready for leadership that feels connected to their lives again. They want representatives who will listen, work hard, and focus on the issues families are facing every day. There’s real excitement building in our party, and we’re ready to carry that energy into this by-election.”

“This by-election is about earning the trust of people who feel let down by a government that has become increasingly out of touch,” said Interim Leader John Fraser. “Families in Scarborough– Southwest are dealing with rising costs and growing frustration with a government that seems more focused on itself than the people it was elected to serve. We’re excited about the momentum building around our party, but now it’s time to get to work and show the people of Scarborough– Southwest that we’re here to fight for them.”

Ahsanul Hafiz said he is proud to stand with the Ontario Liberal Party at a time when people are looking for leadership that listens and focuses on the challenges families are facing every day.

“I’m honoured to have the support of Scarborough–Southwest Liberals and I’m ready to get to work,” said Ahsanul Hafiz. “This community deserves a strong voice at Queen’s Park that understands the challenges people are facing and is focused on delivering real results for local families.”

The Scarborough–Southwest by-election comes as many Ontarians are growing frustrated with a government that, after nearly eight years in office, has become increasingly out of touch with communities across Ontario.
