MPP Fraser: Ford Can’t See Affordability Crisis From 40,000 Feet in His “Gravy Plane”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 17, 2026

QUEEN’S PARK, ON — MPP John Fraser, Interim Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, issued the following statement regarding the Premier’s $28.9 million purchase of a private jet during an affordability crisis:

People can’t afford groceries and gas, and Doug Ford is buying himself a private jet. That is tired and out of touch.

It is incredible that the Premier is so disconnected from the reality of Ontarians’ everyday lives that he could do something this tone-deaf. He should be focused on the simple things.

There’s an affordability crisis in Ontario, and the Premier doesn’t see it. It will be harder to see clearly from 40,000 feet in a private jet.

Now we know why he wants private jets at Billy Bishop so badly. He just bought one.

Forget the gravy train — this is the gravy plane.

After eight long years, this Premier has lost the plot. He’s out of touch, and it’s time for a change.
