Overview:
The Ontario Liberal Party and Liberal Caucus Service Bureau are looking for a small team of bright, energetic college or university students to join our team for the summer.
Applicants for this position should be university or college students, that have a keen interest in learning about working in politics, and some past experience volunteering in politics.
Each participant will work on a large variety of projects related to political organization. Projects will change day-to-day and week-to-week.
The exact roles will vary by placement. Some of the interns will be placed at the Ontario Liberal Party office, and some will be placed at the Liberal Caucus Service Bureau.
Projects at the Ontario Liberal Party office will range across all the different aspects of the office, such as election planning, field work, event planning and execution, data collection and analysis, communications, correspondence, and fundraising.
Projects at the Liberal Caucus Service Bureau will range across all the different aspects of the office, such as communications, policy, issues management, political organization, and support for the Ontario Liberal MPPs.
Assets:
- Election campaign experience.
- Proficient with Liberalist.
- Fluency in French or additional languages.
- Driver’s licence.
Dates: The internship will be for 17 weeks, from Monday May 4 to Friday August 28, although minor variations can be considered for academic and personal commitments.
Hours: As part of a fast-changing and dynamic work environment, the time of political work hours vary. The general expectation on availably is from 9am to 5pm, from Monday to Friday. However, the successful applicants should be prepared to work special events on some weekends and evenings.
Salary: $18.50 an hour, on the basis of a 40-hour work week
